Preparing for the future of electricity
Electricity is central to Canada’s climate action ambitions. From decarbonizing supply to electrifying more end uses, transformational changes lie ahead.
Yet, despite the importance of the electricity sector in Canada’s climate ambitions, electricity research in Canada is currently scarce and scattered. Connections between policy makers, practitioners, and academics are infrequent and ad hoc. Even within academia, the multi-disciplinary nature of electricity research has led to siloed activity.
NZERI is intended to bridge these gaps.
Based out of the University of Calgary, the Net Zero Electricity Research Initiative (NZERI) is developing the knowledge and understanding necessary to navigate these transformational changes.
