Kristina Pearson

Kristina Pearson is an Energy and Environment Policy Research Associate focused on Alberta’s Net Zero Electricity Research Initiative. She began this role after graduating from the University of Calgary’s Sustainable Energy Development MSc. program in 2022. Kristina is a professional engineer and holds a BSc. in Chemical Engineering Computer Process Control (’04) from the University of Alberta.

For years she worked as a design engineer on small and large projects in Alberta’s Oil and Gas Industry, but when the pandemic hit, she was inspired to seek out answers about the energy transition. Although in hindsight, doing a master’s degree with 3 young children during a pandemic was maybe not the easiest way to start!

In her spare time (ha!) she enjoys knitting, cross country skiing, and doing whatever errands she can by bike.  Kristina can often be found extolling the virtues of her e-cargo bike on Twitter.
